WBP Incident # 23-02685 - Shooting Investigation

On March 29th, 2023, at approximately 3:38 pm City Police Units and assisting law enforcement agencies were emergency dispatched to 918 Poplar St for a reported shooting. While en route officers were informed that a 14-year-old male juvenile was located inside the residence and had been struck in the hand by gunfire. During the investigation, officers were eventually informed by the juvenile [who is currently under the supervision of Lycoming County Juvenile Probation] that the shooting injury was self-inflicted and that there were no suspects at large. The juvenile was later transported by EMS to the hospital to receive treatment for his injury.
