Burning Ban in Effect
By Orders of the Fire Chiefs of the City of Williamsport and Old Lycoming Township, a burning ban has been declared for their respective municipalities. Critical fire weather conditions have forced this ban to become effective immediately until 8:00 pm Saturday, April 22nd, 2023.
No open outdoor burning is permitted. This includes but is not limited to any combustible materials such as paper, grass, twigs, wood, or vegetative material, whether in a container or on the ground. Recreational burning is also prohibited. Violators may face legal punishment and fines.
